Junior Cho currently serves as Group Chief Executive Officer for Tune Ins Holdings Berhad (TIH), a listed insurance holding company with subsidiaries / JVs in Malaysia, Thailand, and Middle East, across global travel and general insurance business lines. TIH is one of the leading global online travel insurance providers with footprint in 35 countries and have sold over 8m policies annually.
Prior to joining TIH, he was Chief Executive Advisor for AirAsia Philippines, leading the strategic integration of and corporate turnaround initiatives for AirAsia Philippines and Zest Airways.
He started his career with Andersen Consulting (now known as Accenture) as part of the Financial Services Practices for almost 12 years where he was based in New York and Seoul, focusing on strategy, corporate reengineering, and large change transformation programs. After consulting, Junior moved to the industry side in Asia/Korea, working for blue chip financial companies, such as MetLife as Regional Chief Information / Operations Officer (CIO) for Asia Pacific, Allianz as MD for Market Management, and Cigna as VP and Chief Marketing Offier.
As part of expanding his entrepreneurial spirit, he and his partners launched a renewable energy startup focusing on resource recovery for used tires. He and his team developed the technology, which has been patented but also in currently in operations with Hankook Tire (the 5th largest tire company globally).
Junior graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Columbia University in 1993.
