Who should apply?

Are you an aspiring entrepreneur with a clear concept or prototype, eager to elevate your startup to the next level? Whether you're a registered entity or on the verge of registration, if you're ready to showcase your unique value proposition and commit to growth, our pre-accelerator is for you.

Application requirements

Entrepreneurs who embrace cutting-edge ideas across diverse industries, prioritising solutions driven by technology.

Applicants must demonstrate a well-defined concept, prototype, or ideally, a Minimum-Viable-Product (MVP).

Present a compelling Unique Selling Proposition (USP) that clearly articulates the value and benefits your venture brings to the market.

At least one team member must commit to attending the full programme.

Applicants should either have a registered business entity or demonstrate plans to register within the next three months.

Startups must be registered entities in Malaysia, or plan to register as a Malaysian entity to be eligible for the programme.

A team of 2 with at least one co-founder dedicated full-time to the venture.

  • Launched in 2021, MYStartup stands as a national initiative championed by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI), powered by Cradle. With a vision to become the ASEAN Centre of Entrepreneurship by 2030, MYStartup is dedicated to fostering an inclusive and sustainable entrepreneurial ecosystem for startups. This is achieved through empowering startups via capacity-building programmes centered on three key pillars: founders, investors, and developers.

  • The MYStartup Pre-Accelerator programme caters exclusively to pre-seed and early-stage startups committed to establishing impactful customer proof-points while refining and validating ideas and business models.

  • WatchTower & Friends operates WTF Accelerator, an established venture builder that is consistently ranked among the top such organisations in Malaysia. We help startups rapidly build business cases, validate them and build their ventures.

  • We are accepting applications until 6 November 2024. However, early submission is encouraged to mitigate potential technical issues.

  • There are no charges or fees for joining the accelerator programme, which extends both direct and indirect support to all participating startups, without any payment, fees, or equity requirements.

  • The programme spans approximately four months in duration.

  • Mentoring sessions will primarily be conducted in person, with virtual access available for founders based outside the Klang Valley.

  • Yes, a company with one founder can apply. However, we encourage having an additional founder or teammate for support throughout the programme.

  • No, it’s not mandatory, but having a pitch deck would be advantageous to your application process. It can be used for real-time analysis and improved as you progress through the programme.

  • You’re welcome to apply whether you’re in the ideation, MVP, or revenue stage—what matters most is your commitment to learning.

MYStartup is a national initiative by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI), powered by Cradle. Established in 2021, MYStartup is the Single Window to Malaysia's startup ecosystem, offering a platform that fosters inclusive and sustainable growth for founders, investors and tech talents. In line with the nation's aim to be one of the top global startup ecosystems and the ASEAN Centre of Excellence by 2030, MYStartup nurtures the ecosystem through capacity-building programmes, including hackathons, accelerators, pre-accelerators, and bootcamps. MYStartup is part of the Malaysian Startup Ecosystem Roadmap (SUPER), which has been mandated to ensure that initiatives by MYStartup benefit the startup ecosystem as a whole. This effort is also in tandem with MOSTI's target of creating 5,000 startups by 2025 and 10,000 coders by 2030.

The 12-week MYStartrup Pre-Accelerator is crafted to equip your startup with the essential tools and knowledge for success with a mission to cultivate your potential and accelerate your business growth. By the end of the program, you'll have a clear understanding of your personal goals and the significance of your startup, ensuring you know exactly what you want to achieve as a founder. Additionally, you'll develop a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) ready to on-board your first 100 customers, setting a strong foundation for your startup's growth and success.
